Mayday plot
A U.S. Navy pilot, Troy Kelly, takes part in a top-secret reconnaissance mission over Soviet airspace. The mission goes awry, forcing him to crash in the Russian wilderness. Brennan is stranded in enemy territory and must survive while evading capture. During his journey, he forms an unlikely alliance with ex-KGB agent Nikolai Ustinov.

Quite entertaining, not outstanding, a bit of a buddy-buddy movie set during the Cold War. I had hoped for a bit more action in the snow and wilderness, but there are certainly entertaining parts. However, the level of humor and action could have been a bit higher.

A decent action comedy. The story isn't very ingenious, which fits the genre well. The execution is quite successful. The film has a nice pace, and action and humor are well balanced. The action looks good; they really let loose, especially towards the end. The film also contains a number of successful jokes. The acting is of a sufficient standard, with successful chemistry between Reynolds and Branagh. Visually, the film is passable with good CGI and impressive stunts. 3.0/3.5
