An hour is too short to summarize the life of Dolly Parton, but Maupied makes an admirable attempt. Since Parton has always emphasized that she considers herself a songwriter above all else, Maupied rightly pays extra attention to masterful compositions such as 'Coat Of Many Colors', 'The Bridge', and the inevitable 'I Will Always Love You'. It leaves you wanting more, but is a fine way to introduce new generations to perhaps the only personality who is universally loved even in the highly polarized United States.
