While Harder rehashes some of the ingredients from Influencer, this sequel to the surprise 2022 hit has enough new ideas to satisfy fans. Now living as Caroline, CW is searching for the next victim for her identity theft (and related criminal activities). She brutally breaks with her recent past and sets her sights on Jacob [Jonathan Whitesell], the creator of a podcast where young men talk about their concerns. You know the kind. Whitesell is excellent, partly because the characters are better developed, and Harder doesn't hold back on the physical violence until the very end. A better script, more action (and a pleasantly darkly comic tone), but it's nothing more than a creative rehash of the original.

A brilliant sequel to the fun, fresh thriller, Influencer. Entirely in the same style and featuring several standout performances that elevate the story. CW is actually a very likeable villain: drop-dead gorgeous despite her 'deformity', delightfully uninhibited, bloodthirsty, and with vast knowledge of digital technology and AI. In all those facets, she is one of the most original psychopaths in the horror genre. That deserves praise.

A very strong sequel to the first part – whoever was left of the cast is back, and everything that was good in the first part is better in the second. On the other hand, I found the tension a bit messy here too, and there was just one too many explanatory flashbacks – although there is also more detail and depth in the story. And once again, the resolution is perfect, rendering all criticism superfluous.
The soundtrack is great again, too. Very nice. Now let's just hope there's a third part, but what should it be called? Influencer, Influencers, Influencent?
