Tomei Kenshi plot

In Edo period Japan, Sanshiro diligently practices his swordsmanship, but no amount of practice can hide the fact that he is both clumsy and cowardly. When his samurai father falls prey to a gang of murderous phantom thieves during his night watch, Sanshiro is drawn to the banks of the Sanzu River, which separates the worlds of the living and the dead. There he encounters a strange being who identifies as a Shokera. The otherworldly apparition advises Sanshiro on how to avenge his father using a mysterious potion that can make him invisible.

A somewhat dimwitted samurai receives the recipe for a potion that makes him invisible, giving him the chance to approach his father's murderers. It's all a bit of a stretch, and it's clearly aimed at a younger audience. No spectacular martial arts fights, then. More of a slapstick crime comedy with some quirky special effects and a few fantasy elements. Not particularly good, but still easy to watch.
