The story is as thin as Aunt Sidonia and everything about this movie is ugly. Add to that ten million times 'nigga' and bad editing and just really weird shit that makes no sense. Green Zulu rings. I love B-movies but this one isn't any good.

A very messy vampire film with a clearly cut/unfinished script, but director Ryan Prows's qualities are in the right place. First of all, he benefits from an excellent cast, with strong performances from both Justin Long and RJ Cyler. Not everything comes across equally convincingly, but with these stiff, theatrical dialogues, they still manage to get quite far. Moreover, thanks to excellent cinematography and attractive use of color, the graphic effects are very strong and provide a number of brutal moments that somewhat mask the fact that the story completely derails in the second half. The large-scale escalation, for example, feels unintentionally small-scale, and the experimentation with various editing tricks turns out amateurish, yet Night Patrol always remains engaging and shows that Prows certainly has talent. It is unclear, however, why the reveal is made so late; you have to get through at least three quarters of an hour of build-up before the film unfolds into a horror event.
