A reasonably strong war drama. The story is inspired by true events. The execution is quite successful. The film does take a while to really get going, though. The first quarter is certainly a bit of a grind. But what follows is a film full of action, suspense, and drama. The story is thickened considerably with a generous dose of extra drama and depiction of heroism, which may detract from the historical reality, but is certainly entertaining for the viewer. The film does contain some intensely violent scenes. Visually very beautiful with beautiful images and strong cinematography. 3.5
