El Realismo Socialista plot
This docu-drama satirizes the chaos within the Popular Front, the alliance of parties and organizations that supported President Salvador Allende in Chile in the early 1970s. The film shows the youthful naivety of the Marxists, who protest for equal rights for the working class. Revolution is in the air, without the bitter aftertaste of what is to come. It is 1973, the time of passionate party leaders and a hopeful future, just before one of the most brutal coups ever. But people still believe in the mission of the Popular Front, despite all its shortcomings.
