1) Don't explore the stairs any further down. Think towards the monster.
2) Why did the priest catch fire after being rid of the worms?
3) What powers does the stranger get if he swallows all the worms from people/priest?
4) Why did the child have to be put up for adoption?
5) Is everyone truly cured now, and why? There were still worms inside people.
6) What was in the grimoire?

All in all a nice movie to watch, but hardly any answers

Man Finds Tape is a found footage mystery thriller. It adheres to the formal conventions that define a found footage film. You know, the kind. Amateur-made found footage, shaky camerawork, naturalistic acting. In short, there's nothing surprising about it.

Man Finds Tape isn't an interesting film. It's rather transparent and lazy. Many scenes rely on too much chance. The camera is always just coincidentally positioned where the action is happening. It feels rather contrived. But if you can get past that, you'll also find a film with some good moments amidst those seemingly artificial scenes. For example, the film succeeds perfectly in interweaving the surreal with the everyday in a rather natural way.

The story is rather vague and creates an atmosphere of mystery. Not all events are clearly explained. Some events are open to multiple interpretations. And voilà, there's shadowiness and mystery. With these gimmicks, the film holds up reasonably well until the final half hour. After that, scenes are drawn out as if the finale would otherwise happen too quickly. The tension wanes. Fortunately, interest returns in the finale. Instead of going bombastic or overwhelming the viewer with surprises, the finale is pleasantly restrained. A good fit for a film that doesn't endlessly explain itself.

In Man Finds Tape, not all mysteries are explained. One major mystery even remains deliberately a major mystery. This, too, fits the film's somewhat murky tone. Viewers expecting answers will be disappointed. Man Finds Tape is a film with strong, oppressive moments, yet it also deliberately embraces vagueness and too often descends into unnecessary protraction. I was left with a meh feeling afterward.
