Sima's Song plot

Set in the troubled Afghanistan of the late 1970s, Sima's Song follows two inseparable friends: Suraya, a communist fighting for the promise of equality, and Sima, a talented singer and Muslim who seeks refuge in tradition. As their visions of freedom collide and converge, they are united despite their differences by their shared fight for women's rights.
