The Rip plot
"Count the money. Count it again. Count on no one."
A team of agents in Miami discover millions in cash in an abandoned warehouse. The discovery begins to shake the trust between the agents. As others learn more about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question—including who the agents can trust.

Entertaining.
Every now and then, a blunt action film about corrupt cops is welcome. They often come from the more clumsy directors like David Ayer, or, as in this case, Joe Carnahan. Admittedly, his peak seems to be over, but I still find his films entertaining and very suitable as a quick snack.
With Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, big names have been added to the project, but that doesn't really mean anything. Affleck, by the way, is better than Damon in his role. Despite their presence, the somewhat darkly shot action film, with a few minor twists here and there, is as you'd expect based on the poster. The resolution isn't really fitting—I would have preferred everyone to be a bit 'dirty'—but so be it.

A good film in which a team of special agents seizes a substantial amount of drug money. A great setup for this entertaining action thriller that's reasonably exciting in places. It's right up the alley of director Joe Carnahan. Nothing new under the sun, but solid nonetheless.

I certainly enjoy watching these kinds of films, story-wise and all, but this one missed the mark for me. The story itself is well-conceived, but the execution was less so. I found it uninspired, weak, and the cast didn't really shine. It's a shame, but thankfully there are plenty of people who did like it
