Covjek Koji Nije Mogao Sutjeti plot

February 1993; a passenger train is travelling from Belgrade in Serbia to Bar in Montenegro. The train is stopped by armed Serbian paramilitary forces in Štrpci in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They have received a tip that there are Muslim passengers on the train. They find 19 of them, take them off the train and execute them shortly after the train departs. About 500 passengers witness the event, but no one dares to stand up to the paramilitaries. Only one man, retired soldier Tomo Buzov, who is on his way to visit his son, resists.

Yes, it does get under your skin. The empty space and the drags of the cigarette in the dark when the train leaves again. Open wounds have to be reopened.

Oscar worthy, but still rounding down to 3.7

I recently read The Camino by Dutch bestselling author Anya Niewierra and the novel accurately captures the feeling and atmosphere of the Yugoslav war. I couldn't help but think of it after watching this short film.

What do you do in such a situation? Try to be as inconspicuous as possible, I think. It quickly becomes clear that you can't win the argument against such a repressive superiority. You can still play the hero at another time if you really want to. But such intimidating raids always hit home. Great short that leaves you with an uneasy feeling.
