Le Répondeur plot
Baptiste, a talented impersonator, is unable to make a living from his profession. One day, he is approached by Pierre Chozène, a famous but discreet novelist, who is troubled by annoying people, lawyers, socialites and annoyances. Pierre needs peace and quiet to finish his most ambitious and intimate text. So he asks Baptiste to be his voice on the phone, and Baptiste becomes his answering machine, with all the risks that entails.

A writer [Denis Podalydes] is so distracted by his phone that he hires a talented impersonator [Salif Cissé] to answer all his business and personal calls. A notebook containing details about the contacts' backgrounds and relationships is supposed to help him. Naturally, this plan has a major impact on the personal and business relationships of both parties. A charming cast grapples with the absurd, far-fetched premise. Since Cissé impersonates exclusively French celebrities (and the French voice actor who played Columbo), this is more enjoyable for those with a better-than-average knowledge of French pop culture.
