A broken woman seems to wander the earth. Together with her best friend she encounters an alien and narcissistic being. His touch works for them like a drug addiction. Whether or not the alien wants to conquer the world is a concern for later.

If a film begins with a therapy session in which a young woman talks about traumatic yet simultaneously exciting sex with an alien, then you know you are probably watching a bizarre movie. And if that alien lover is dressed in retro tracksuits, fits our image of a Jesus figure, has cool dance moves, and displays healing powers, then you can safely leave out the word 'probably'.
Touch Me is the second feature film by director and writer Addison Heimann and an enjoyable sci-fi/horror comedy. Absurd, funny, and with a touch of gore, Touch Me is fun B-horror. Although it can be categorized as a B-movie, it pays a great deal of attention to the characters. In a B-movie, that is by no means a given. Besides being a conventional alien invasion story, the film is also somewhat of a character study of people with mental health issues. Director Heimann states in an interview that a lot of himself and his obsessive-compulsive disorder has been incorporated into the film.
In addition to the director's personal input, the film stands out with excellent creative ideas and unforeseen plot twists that keep it fresh and delightfully absurd. The self-important alien is the central figure in a variety of exaggerated pseudo-spiritual scenes that are very funny but, due to the layered nature of the characters, also carry a serious undertone. Touch Me is an enjoyable sci-fi/horror comedy that follows the conventions of the genre reasonably well but, with its character sketches, certainly offers more than the average B-movie. A pleasant surprise.
