Nice action film. The story is not high-quality but that is allowed with this genre. The elaboration is quite successful. Small build-up and soon tension and action follow. The action looks neat and considering the budget the CGI is of a good level. The tension is not nerve-wracking because the film is too predictable and unbelievable. Furthermore the acting is good. Nice brainless snack. 3.0

Simple action thriller that takes a shot at the biggest lack of logic in a hostage film of all time. Director Patrick Lussier mainly confirms with this that he has regressed to B-movies these days and makes little attempt to make Aftermath more than it is. Dylan Sprouse and Mason Gooding nevertheless do what they can within the limited acting space that is allotted to them and together provide a reasonable number of entertaining action moments, but the very substandard computer effects and the wafer-thin content certainly do not help them. The scale of the film is not very big to begin with, but the frequent use of green screens, CGI and other digital effects reduces the whole thing a lot further. Fortunately, it is all entertaining, but not at all entertaining.

Pretty okay. Quite unbelievable (more and more towards the end) and occasionally hideous cgi. Also the villain on duty was someone with 0 charisma but mainly someone who shouts himself out to try to get some charisma but that doesn't work (John David Washington in that movie with Zendaya was also such a good example of that). And the main character is quite colorless, but sympathetic.

Doesn't change the fact that the film is smooth, the location on that bridge is fun, a number of supporting characters have a nice role, the film also has reasonable action and I enjoyed myself quite a bit. So fine to see once in the cinema and that's it. But sometimes that's enough. 3.0*.
