Alan Bender specializes in negotiating with hostage takers in Mexico and is always called in when things get heated. However, his married life suffers and that is why he goes to relationship therapy sessions with his wife. When the Mexican president and his lover are kidnapped, Alan is confronted with the most important case of his career, especially as the kidnapper demands to talk to him alone. However, it soon becomes clear that the case concerns not only the security of the state, but also Alan personally, as his wife is also in the kidnapper's clutches.
