Grizzly Night a drama/thriller. Indeed, the film was just one big drama, or misery is a better word. A typical Prime film.

You need character and perseverance to watch this B-movie monstrosity. The acting was awful...

Night of Horrors.

There are far too many films in which bears are portrayed as aggressive and murderous lords of the jungle—roaring and flailing their paws, leaving at least ten victims per linear meter in the pristine wilderness. The reality is, of course, subtly different. You have a much greater chance of being killed by a cow than by a bear, and the bear doesn't even appear on the list of the ten most dangerous animal species. So why those films time and time again? Laziness, that seems to be the answer.

Still, this film is just slightly better, because the story-based-on-a-book is actually based on a real event, and yes, for that, it was indeed necessary to go back to 1967. Attacking bears are that rare; you can gather that from this as well.

As far as I can tell, the film sticks to the facts quite closely, except perhaps for a little bit of embellishment – the article about the book on the English Wikipedia provides a fairly detailed summary that corresponds exactly with the film.

Otherwise, it results in a somewhat perfunctory and, frankly, a bit boring film, with far too much screen time for the gloomy antics of gloomy people—and too little nature, and especially too few bears. Except at the very end, that is, but that is just horror.
