A Sudden Case of Christmas plot
"As long as there's love, there's Christmas."
An American couple brings their ten-year-old daughter, Claire, to her grandfather Lawrence's hotel in the Dolomites in Italy. Usually they come at Christmas, but this year it is August. Claire's parents are splitting up and want Lawrence to be the one to tell her, especially since he has such a special bond with his granddaughter. Once Claire realizes there will be no family Christmas this year, she insists that everyone make it Christmas, here and now in August, including flying in her other grandparents. Together with her grandfather, Claire organizes activities to reunite her parents. However, the whole process seems to fail and throws her grandparents' marriage into unexpected difficulties.
