Wineville plot

The 1970s. After the death of her abusive father, Tess is forced to return to the vineyard where she grew up. Tess is the mother of an eleven-year-old son and is raising him alone. She finds it difficult to enter her parental home, of which she has only bad memories. As Tess and her family try to divide the inheritance, dark family secrets come to light.

A relatively unremarkable horror film in which Brande Roderick is both in front of and behind the camera. What immediately stands out about Wineville is its low production value, caused by a surprisingly large lack of funding. A mother and son move to the countryside to start a new life, where it's immediately apparent that neither member possesses much acting talent. Furthermore, the murders are equally uneventful, and there's no time or space to build a stable atmosphere. What remains is a degree of sincerity from the filmmakers and an attempt at plot twists, but otherwise, this is largely a forgettable project.
