Siggi - Drengen, der Blev FBI-spion plot

Icelandic Sigurdur Thordarson becomes a hacker at the age of twelve and exposes corruption at Icelandic banks at the age of fourteen. The 'teen whistleblower' joins WikiLeaks and, accompanied by Julian Assange, leaks secret documents to the media worldwide. Eventually things go wrong between him and Assange and when the FBI starts an investigation into the activities of WikiLeaks, Siggi, now eighteen years old, decides to work with them and become an informant. His credibility is quickly undermined when he is accused of sexually assaulting underage boys and financial fraud.

As a teenager, Icelandic hacker Sigurdur Thordarson was among Julian Assange's small group of confidants. According to insiders, that was only because Julian couldn't find anyone else, because this documentary makes it clear that Sigurdur has quite a few strange personality traits that make him difficult to trust. The story of 'Siggi Hakkari' is extensive and complex and the non-chronological structure only makes it less clear. Siggi is a key player in the whole WikiLeaks affair, including the image, but Bendtzen often lags behind the facts and apparently does not know what to do with Siggi. Siggi does have to deal with critical, sometimes downright confrontational questions, but he remains an enigma.
