How crazy are you when there are voices in your head giving you orders and you are not in charge? Should you ignore them and fight them with pills or should you take them seriously? This documentary gets inside the heads of voice hearers who try to really listen to their voices, in the hope that this radically different approach will provide relief.

Approximately 1 in 10 people deal with voices in their heads, reports psychiatrist Dirk Corstens in this fascinating, revealing, and admirable documentary. Ooms filmed five people undergoing treatment with Corstens and filmed them in full shot with a static camera. With patience and a warm, friendly voice, Corstens engages in conversation with his clients and with the voices of those other people in their heads. Kudos to all involved for the courage and integrity with which they make a difficult subject discussable. Naturally, it is especially (but not exclusively) recommended for psychiatrists and people who themselves struggle with voices in their heads. Winner of Best Dutch Documentary at IDFA.
