What a great film. Beautiful cinematography, great soundtrack, and strong acting by Arienne Mandi and Zar Amir Ebrahimi. An angry, exciting, shocking and moving story about courage and choosing freedom. Recommended! Cinema at its best.

I completely agree with Hannibal. This oppressive tale with noir tones still manages to haunt me. This is due to both the subject and the way it is presented. The script is presented in beautiful black and white and I was glued to the screen for the entire duration. The sad thing is that Leila's impossible choice is one that athletes still have to make today.

What a disappointment, this film.

The wafer-thin thread (important and urgent, let that be said) is blown up for 105 minutes with pompous music. Inimitable judo matches have to be given a face by an American voice-over who thinks he is reporting on a boxing match. A predictable course unfolds from thick wood and for those who still don't know, the ending summarizes everything: Islamic athletes are faced with an impossible dilemma.

A documentary on this subject might have done more justice to this current issue.
