Quell'Estate con Irène plot

Italy, 1997. Clara and Irène, both seventeen, meet at a summer camp organized by the hospital that treats them. Clara is shy while Irène is uninhibited - they immediately become inseparable friends. Rather than return to their families, they decide to run away to a remote island off the coast of Sicily to spend their first summer as young women. They live carefree and dream of love, recording their moments together on VHS and facing their fears about the future.

Beautiful film. A film where you have no idea where it will go, without that being a problem. Also a film that does not always provide answers to the questions that arise, without that being a problem. A film where every image is actually beautiful and will have its own meaning. I watched those two beautiful women with my mouth open. But, this is not an easy film. A film about friendship, about life, but also about death.
