A lot sillier than its predecessor. From an objective point of view you cannot of course call the first part a good film, but I appreciated the extremely direct approach to slasher elements. However, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield treats that film as media and rebuilds the story, so that this time you have to get past a hackneyed legend. The drama is also richer and the characters have more depth, but in a world in which Winnie the Pooh bashes the brains out of his victims, I'm not really looking forward to that. It takes a considerable amount of time before things come to a head and the few massacres in between are not graphic enough to make it any more interesting. Fortunately, the horror is finally ramped up towards the finale, with a successful sequence of bloody scenes. Pooh is also a nice executioner (in contrast to the caricatured appearance of Owl) and looks strikingly intimidating to the extent that his appearance allows that. The atmosphere is quite nice and the opening has a nice punch, but for the next part (which looks like it will once again benefit from a larger budget) they can scale back the story and pay more attention to the horror.

Slightly less than the first part. There was still quite a bit to laugh at, but there has been a slight decline in almost all respects.

First of all, the cast. A new Christopher Robin, much more subdued than the delightfully over-the-top version in the previous part. Pooh himself had a different appearance this time, more evil, but I liked the contrast between his good-natured face and gruesome behavior in part one much more.

The joke of the novelty is gone with a second part and what remains is simply not enough to keep you interested for an hour and a half. There were some nice kills, but the incessant slaughter towards the end was quite boring, especially because they made little visual impression. Instead of just focusing on kills, there should be more to be gained from this in terms of atmosphere, but that was omitted.

The only really fun scene was actually the one where father and son are birdwatching and Owl strikes. In any case, Owl was a small highlight among a lot of mediocrity.

It was a lot better than the first film, but it still remains a B-movie. A lot of smoke in a forest, a man in a mask with a chainsaw. I thought this was really very original. A film like those made every day, entertainment on a nasty Sunday and you really don't know what to do.....
