Stormskärs Maja plot
Everyday life is a brutal struggle for survival, but Maja perseveres. Despite all the setbacks, she remains in Stormskerry, where her roots lie. Maja is loved because she developed during - and not because of - her hardships. She is learning and is willing to share her new knowledge with her husband Janne. Her quest for emancipation revolves around equality. They both work equally hard to eke out a living on the barren island of Stormskerry.

A feast for the eyes, and in my opinion rightly in the top 10 of the IFFR Audience Award. The film is long, but never too long. Sometimes it all goes a bit too fast. Amanda Jansson as Maja gives a really great performance. You are completely sucked into the story. A story about survival, self-determination and love. Highly recommended!
