Runs in the Family plot

River Storm is a transsexual with an ambitious plan: he and his best friend enter a local drag competition and use the winnings to undergo surgery. However, in the days leading up to the event, River's father Varun Chetty asks him to join him on a road trip to get River's mother Monica out of rehab. It turns out that a relative has to sign Monica out and since Varun isn't technically married to her, the onus falls on River. Despite his hesitation, River eventually relents and the pair depart for the multi-day trip.
