"There are no saints among the living"
In the not-so-distant future, the Catholic Church discovers a way to bring the recently deceased back to life. For a second chance after death, the conditions are simple: you must believe in God and avoid sins. Like Stanley, a priest who joined the church when his son was one of the first to be revived, most of the population converts to Catholicism. Now he helps the resurrected to reintegrate. When someone from his parish commits a murder, Stanley discovers that this is not an isolated case. The Church tries to cover up the crimes, so Stanley begins his own investigation...

Although director Egor Baranov's approach deserves praise, Resurrected is nevertheless of a very questionable standard. In any case, it is remarkable how one actually manages to bring these ideas together, but fortunately, it still makes for a decent opening. It is certainly unpredictable at the beginning, but once things really get going, the film devolves into an uninteresting and farcical affair. The acting is truly unbelievably bad, and this is made even more noticeable by the heavily exaggerated drama. Once the finale arrives, things get a bit over the top, but unfortunately, that comes much too late in a film that otherwise feels much too long.
