Michael Broun, the young half-brother of successful fighter pilot Jerry Broun, fails to follow in his footsteps because of his fear of thunder. Disappointed, he travels with his girlfriend Molly McGuire to her brother Raoul's ranch, located on the Mexican border. Raoul is involved in smuggling oil to get money. Jerry Broun, now working under the name Jim Lofton for the Department of Justice, tries to roll up the gang, despite his friendship with Raoul.
