Nattevagten was still reasonable to watch, but this was really bad, by the way I think Coster-Waldau is one of the worst Danish actors, he never convinces me, the whole film doesn't convince me anyway. I'd rather just watch a Danish film or certainly a series...

I rarely pass up a Danish film. Nattevagten unfolds as a mystery thriller and then the genre of horror also comes around the corner. It never gets that bad, but the film does create a certain secretly uncomfortable atmosphere. Not so illogical if you are a night watchman at a forensic site as a student worker or if you later visit a psychopath in prison.

In that respect a good start of the film. Only then it falls a bit quiet and I found it not very interesting. It does not become innovative and creative anymore and the film gets bogged down in its clichés. Too bad, I have seen better ones on Danish level.

After his own American remake, Danish director Ole Bornedal returns here after almost thirty years to his breakthrough film for a belated sequel. With his own daughter in the lead role, mind you. She does not do badly but does not have a lot of charisma. It takes a while for the plot and tension to get going and the film does not come close to the original, but all in all the script is quite nicely put together and there are some strong moments here and there. However, a high tempo and tighter editing would not have hurt. As well as a nicer leading actress.
