Into the Shadows plot

'Into the Shadows' shows a search into the lives of hundreds of thousands of Africans living in the inner city of Johannesburg. They are urban survivors: their stories go unspoken, their existence goes unrecorded, and their voices go unheard. The stories cast a shadow over Africa as a whole. This film documents the dark underbelly of downtown Johannesburg: the slums and the struggle to survive as migrants, refugees and local South Africans. Everyone competes for work, shelter, food and a better life.
