Rarely beautiful film! Players are real. Deep emotions. Very beautifully filmed.

I also immediately thought of "Retour à Séoul" when I saw this film. A film about the adoption of a foreign child. The farming couple Hans and Karen are childless and find a match with the South Korean Carl through adoption. The culture shock must be great: the rather boring Danish countryside and the farm life of the adoptive parents versus South Korea.

And you notice that too. In both directions, by the way. Carl has a visual delusion of a beautiful South Korean woman that he uses as a reference point or as a comfort when he is having a hard time or feels alone. And on the other hand, he is constantly confronted with his origins. Stupid comments are dismissed as jokes or are quite offensive.

The film is slow, but it kept me interested. There is a lot of attention for farm life and the impasse in which Carl finds himself. Good acting too and I have already seen the easy-going Bjarne Henriksen (the father) in other Danish films. Very authentic warm film, serenely performed. Enjoyed it!
