The Wall plot

Agent Jessica Comley guards the border between the United States and Mexico. She is very dedicated to her work and determined to fight drug trafficking and illegal immigration. One day she loses control and shoots an innocent migrant. In addition to her colleague, an older man and his grandson witness this. Her colleague tries to dismiss the incident as an accident.

As expected, a very mediocre production. In the leading role is Vicky Krieps, who has a very driven, narrow-minded view of her job. As a border guard, she is responsible for restricting illegal travelers and smugglers.

Apart from the bond with her sick sister-in-law, she is at odds with everyone, not unjustifiably so, because she is insufferable as a colleague and is very tough on the weak. Actually, she just doesn't like people, no matter how controlling or enforcing you have to be in a social position.

But the film doesn't pack enough punches. It also doesn't lead anywhere. Krieps may be OK as a gruff, arrogant cop, but that's about it. Towards the end you just want to kick them in the ass. And that is separate from her acting role.
