Nederland Cacaoland plot

Maarten Veeger and Sanne Boswinkel literally and figuratively dive into the world of cocoa. They investigate the major role that the Netherlands plays in the international cocoa trade, gain exclusive access to places where no camera had ever filmed and have revealing conversations with both the established order and the new generation of chocolate makers. From the import of the cocoa beans in the port of Amsterdam to the chocolate bars, sprinkles and bonbons in the shops: the entire production process is closely followed in this documentary.
