Dog Gone plot
"To find what's lost, a father and son will do the impossible."
Fielding Marshall adores his beloved dog Gonker, who has Addison's disease. During a long-distance hike, Fielding loses sight of him. With his father John and mother Ginny, he soon starts an intense search to find Gonker. The dog has a limited amount of time to get his monthly medication before he may go into a coma. The search soon attracts worldwide attention and people from all walks of life join the Marshalls.

Real Netflix movie that just isn't. A typical family movie. All very sweet. Acting is acceptable, but certainly no more than that. It all seems unconvincing. A few days ago I saw another film by Berchtold (Broke (2025)) where he has a more modest role but comes across a bit better. The depth that the film sometimes tends towards is not elaborated. Of course the film is incredibly predictable, but that is forgiven. It is just all exactly what you can expect, including the type of soundtrack etc. But nowhere does the film stand out above the crowd or surprise. Excellent choice if you feel like watching a sweet family movie and accept that it all colors very nicely between the lines. I can't quite give it 3 stars. A plus is that it is based on truth. 2.5 stars.
