Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again plot
"Same shift. Different night."
High school student Nick Daley does a summer job at the museum. There he temporarily replaces his father, who is on leave, because Nick Daley is the only one who also knows the secret of the museum. Everything comes alive at night. The young student's holiday job initially seems to be going well. But then the former Egyptian ruler Kahmunrah escapes from the basement of the museum and Daley must prevent his evil plans with the help of other historical figures.

After three live-action films, someone came up with the absurd idea of continuing this already tired formula with animation. Replacing CGI with animation is easy, but it takes the last bit of magic out of the basic idea. The simplistic animation and formulaic script don’t help either. Larry Daley [Zachary Levi] convinces his son Nick [Joshua Bassett] to take over his former job as a night watchman at The Natural History Museum. Nick is an insecure bungler and doesn’t lock up a room in the basement properly. Kahmunrah [Joseph Kamal], “the disappointing son” of Ra [Zeeko Zaki], takes the opportunity to escape and makes plans to take over the world. Nick enlists the help of the living museum pieces to stop Kahmunrah. Uninspired, routine and unnecessary.
