Una Storia Valdese plot
Gustavo Alabiso is an Italian photographer living in Karlsruhe, Germany. After a long time, he decides to track down his former classmates from the Waldensian primary school he once attended. The Waldensians are a Protestant denomination based in Italy, leading an apostolic life of simplicity and poverty. Alabiso wants to record the memories and testimonies of his former classmates and travels to Riesi in Sicily, a region characterized by the mafia and emigration. He undertakes this journey after living on the borderline between two completely different worlds, that of the Waldensian community and the Sicilian province of old. The documentary records his encounters with classmates living in Italy and abroad, but also offers an insight into the Waldensians.
