Ebenezer Scrooge is a financier and money changer who has spent his life focusing on getting more money and nothing more. He is a big, bitter miser. Oh horrible version. Much time is spent on songs and colorful effects leaving little time to see Scrooge slowly change his mind. I can't imagine that children understand anything about this.

Based on the 1970 musical version with songs written by Leslie Bricusse. Replacing live action with animation is always dangerous, but the animation is so bland and the direction so unimaginative that this retelling of Charles Dickens' beloved story ranks among the worst versions. Ebeneezer Scrooge [Luke Evans] is colorless, the optimism of Bob Chratchit [Johnny Flynn] downright irritating. A worthless addition to the Dickens catalogue.
