Kar ve Ayi plot

A young nurse starts a new job in a remote village. It's a small, snowy, frontier town where winter just doesn't seem to end. There are rumors of bears waking up early from hibernation. One night a man goes missing.

Very nice movie. I like such atmospheric portraits anyway and most of the time the film is too. Certainly the moments when the nurse (played in an excellent natural way, you keep watching her fascinated) is followed and her interaction with the fellow villagers. Then I find the thriller element just a little less in terms of interest, but that part is also well filled. Often beautiful shots where the weather is played well, sometimes gray, then again with a setting sun. Psychologically, the film is slightly weaker, certainly towards the end. It also hangs too much (a kind of Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky) but it doesn't really bother because the overall feeling of a village portrait always remains. 4.0*.

Calmly told story about the nurse Asli who ends up in a snowbound mountain village and has to deal with the prejudices and backbiting of the population. Beautiful (drone) images of the snowy landscape. The cold and poverty are almost tangible, partly due to the good sound. You could say that not much happens, but I was never bored for a second with this somewhat grim directorial debut by Selcen Ergun.

Atmospheric film of a young nurse who medically assists some residents with their concerns in an inhospitable village. Quite mystical with the snow that has the village in its stranglehold. This is further boosted by the inflated myth of wandering bears lurking on careless residents. Not that there aren't bears, but they certainly aren't demons either.

The film ripples along at a moderate pace, but remains entertaining. The events add a touch of extra mystery. Not a real whodunnit, but rather what if the truth comes to light or how do you deal with this (little) secret?

The power of the environment and snow is used to the maximum, which is why I really liked this film. Great art house!
