Het Feest van Tante Rita plot
Theo and Lulu go on vacation to the campground and hope for an invitation to Aunt Rita's Feast. When we arrive at the campsite, mother Sjan has a nice surprise; they are invited! But the road to the party is not without obstacles: the family car cannot be driven and a lion has escaped from the zoo. Once on the road, Theo and Lulu are also thwarted by Vwo and his personal driver Remco, because Vwo wants to win the dance competition. Can Frank Vonk catch the lion in the Tsjoe Tsjoe Wa forest and does the myopic bus driver manage to get Theo and Lulu to the dance party in time.

Aunt Rita [Lucretia van der Vloot] is throwing a party and the Dubbel family is invited. Father [Pim Muda] is more interested in a football match and pretends to be sick. Mother [Edsilia Rombley] therefore stays home and puts Lulu [Esther Mbire] and her best friend Theo [Sil van der Zwan] on the bus. When a rich kid [Piet Tomassen] gets wind of the dance competition at Aunt Rita's party, he tries, with the help of his chauffeur [Edo Brunner], to prevent six-time winner Lulu from reaching the destination. A lighthearted, cheerful musical comedy with a simple story, likeable characters, funny “special effects,” and fine acting by the children. Everyone seems to be having a great time, and we get to share in the festive joy. The soundtrack is a mix of catchy original songs and funny covers. Received a disappointing sequel: Aunt Rita's Party 2 – The Chocolate Bomb.
