Togo plot
Togo is a car attendant in the capital of Uruguay. He was once a promising boxer, but a car accident left Togo crippled and living on the street. To make matters worse, his daughter is in a shelter for recovering addicts. Togo is respected by his neighbors and lives off the tips he receives for parking, caring for and washing their cars. His standard routine is broken, however, by Mercedes, an upper-class teenager who has a terrible relationship with her parents, and drug dealers who prosper close to Togo's area. With his fists and cane as weapons, Togo won't let anyone walk all over him.

Unfortunately this is not a very good film, I'm usually not crazy about Spanish-language films and series. And yes, the homeless man, Diego Alonso, fortunately still does a good job, but the film does not fascinate me at all, and I have to agree with the people of Filmtotaal again, just under 1.5 out of 5, and especially for Diego Alonso, because indeed the transitions of the scenes are also sloppy.....quickly forgotten...I bit my lip mainly out of misery

Moderate Uruguayan crime drama with an excellent performance by Diego Alonso. As an actor he has so far only limited himself to South American films, so if you (like me) have missed him so far, you are more than forgiven. In Togo he forms an interesting leading role that is strengthened by director Israel Adrián Caetano thanks to the intriguing bond he creates with co-star Catalina Arrillaga. The band is never developed in a particularly original way, but personally I found it very interesting how the film/band developed around a culture that is foreign to ours. For example, the fact that certain people "own" a certain area/block is the key to the crime aspects in this film, but it is nowhere comparable to our Western world (as far as I know). The first hour is an interesting piece of film in particular, but Caetano becomes a bit too overconfident during the finale in which Alonso single-handedly, crippled, wipes out almost an entire crime organization. Fortunately it is on for a good hour and a half. entertainment does not get in the way too much and I can easily give Togo a pass.
