"A little heartache, a lot of love."
Bea grows up with her parents who have intellectual disabilities, but who refuse to depend on anyone. Their shelter is in the form of a van that they exchange for a house. In managing a practical life, they are constantly faced with challenges. Feeling compelled to take care of her parents, Bea takes a job. Outside of that, she is an exceptional student.

Nice coming-of-age film about the affairs of a smooth teenager with two less gifted parents. It's nice that director/writer Matt Smukler never makes fun of those parents, but you can laugh about it now and then. It's a pity that the supporting roles of Jean Smart and Jacki Weaver sometimes go over the top. Apart from that, an entertaining film with a message that leaves you with a good feeling.

Reasonable film about a girl who is raised by her parents with an intellectual disability. A bit unbalanced in terms of tone because the balance between drama and comedy is sometimes lost. A number of excellent scenes and the film remains entertaining through the long flashbacks and the fine cast.
