Kramer filmed a number of pet owners over an extended period of time and managed to gain enough confidence to let them speak candidly about the personal bond they have with their pet. Beautifully filmed and Kramer also succeeds in adopting a neutral stance and leaving it up to the viewer to make a judgment. A documentary that will make you endeared or infuriated, possibly a bit of both, holds up a mirror to every pet owner and will undoubtedly lead to smooth debriefings.
