Min Mamma Är en Persisk Prinsessa plot
Sanna comes to Sweden as an adopted child, grows up in a middle-class family, lives a Swedish life, but feels different, sometimes alienated. Through a series of life crises, including a difficult cancer diagnosis, she begins to trace her roots in Iran. Sanna has a photo of her mother that she received from an Iranian couple who helped her from Sweden. She has the photo published in an Iranian newspaper, along with information about where she can be reached. After a few months of silence, Sanna is finally contacted by phone. It's her mother. Sanna tries to reconnect with a series of trips to Tehran, to the poor suburbs where her mother, brothers and sisters live.
