The Irish Maureen Kearney [Isabelle Huppert] combines her job as an English teacher, for years, with work as a trade union representative at Areva, a nuclear industry company with 50,000 employees. The excellent relationship with the Areva board comes to an end when director Anne Lauvergeon [Marina Foïs] makes way for Luc Oursel [Yvan Attal], a hot-tempered man who doesn't like the union. When his attempt to win over Maureen fails and Maureen continues to express her unsalted criticism of the decision-making as usual, Areva tries to silence her in other ways. True story immediately reveals that Maureen has been the victim of a brutal robbery. The course of the investigation, led by Nicolas Brémon [Pierre Deladonchamps], is almost as shocking as what preceded it. Inevitably shows similarities with Paul Verhoevens Elle, not in the least because Huppert also now shines as a victim who does not meet the requirements that men make of a victim role. Gacebois is equally outstanding as the man who supports her through thick and thin. But where do those references to Vertigo store?

Reasonable film about a woman who is attacked at home and the investigation that follows. Based on a true story. The first half focuses somewhat on the political games within the main character's world. This is also the best part of the movie. The film lacks some suspense.

Mediocre. The story goes both ways. The first part is about a trade union woman who exposes corruption, the second part about her sexual assault. Although one thing is related to the other, it still feels as if a different path is suddenly taken. The film leaves you with questions and that's why I found the ending unsatisfactory. And from what I have seen of Huppert, I thought this was her least strong role.
