You Stupid Man plot

"In love. In deep. In trouble."

Owen is a hopeless romantic, but really hopeless. When his gorgeous girlfriend Chloe moves to Hollywood to star in a TV series, he follows her. There he finds Chloe naked in the trailer of Rodger, her great-created opponent. Despondent, Owen returns to New York, where he writes lame bits for a magazine. He is incredibly disappointed and knows how to make every woman he meets in New York depressed. Owen wallows in self-pity and his self-esteem plummets, but worse things lie ahead...

Very American conservatism, nonsense and fuss, but the two main actors, especially Nadine, play believably and make it fun... Nothing else special. Happy ending

Take three rejected episodes of Friends, edit them together and you have, roughly speaking, You Stupid Man.

The film starts off hopeful with a cynical joke here and there and Denise Richards neatly playing the same role she always plays. In short, you think you are watching an entertaining romantic comedy with a slightly cynical tone. Ideal to enjoy together on the couch with your wife, but unfortunately it goes hopelessly wrong in the second part of the film.

It quickly becomes clear that lead actor David Krumholtz does not have the charisma to carry this film. The man spouts rather incoherent dialogues that he himself does not believe in for a moment. Then suddenly there is Milla Jovovich, who for some incomprehensible reason sees something in him, but as a viewer you do not believe for a moment that these two people could have a relationship.

The whole film is a big series of awkwardnesses, which unfortunately never become funny. Romance is nowhere to be found and humor even less.

The only reason for not giving this film the lowest score is because of the slightly enjoyable first half hour and the two actresses who were given a platform here and would later act in many better films.

Due to the crappy dialogues and a downright offensive lead actor, this is a very mediocre film.

Rather watch an episode of Friends or Two and a Half Men and skip this movie with a clear conscience.
