20-year-old Jing Hao came to Shenzhen to live alone with his young sister. The two lead a warm but oppressive life. In an effort to pay for his sister's expensive surgery, Jing Hao happens to get a chance. He thinks a better life is on the way, but unexpectedly faces a serious setback. Pressured by both time and money, Jing Hao, who sees no way out, decides to take a desperate gamble.

My second film by director Muye Wen is a Chinese propaganda film about workers who, through their determination, make the impossible possible. It's a lesson in camaraderie and toughness; actually too good to be true. That is the main problem that ultimately prevents this film from reaching the level of Muye Wen's debut Dying to Survive (2018). Nevertheless, the film is certainly worth watching, if only because of the interweaving of capitalism and socialism. The dramatic context is a bonus.
