The Princess plot

"Bow to no one."

Once upon a time there was a young princess who felt more comfortable with a sword than with a tiara. When her father, the king, orders the princess to marry a cruel prince, she refuses. After the failed marriage, he then tries to overthrow the king and kidnaps the princess. The prince locks her up in her father's large, magical castle. To save her family and the kingdom, the princess will have to take matters into her own hands.

Kiet is back.

Funny. A director who apparently started off well in Asian content and ultimately flopped in America. Normally films like The Requin will mean the end of the career for directors like this, but Kiet has apparently very cleverly managed to get another project from Disney. However, the level is just as mediocre.

Tension didn't work with the sharks, so just focus on action with this film. You hear it, a film with almost exclusive action and extremely drawn-out fight scenes in which Joey King plays the leading role. You wouldn't think she would come off looking like a badass. If you think that like me, then you are right. Quite a miscast from an actress I usually like, but just doesn't fit here.

The pace is nice and the camera sweeps along with the fighting actors in a modern way, but when it comes to choreography the film is mainly incomplete and the action scenes themselves are insufficiently inventive. The palace as a background offers enough opportunity for some serious action, but not much of it is used. Actually, the only standout sequence was the King vs. almost the entire army of knights.

Visually it still looks reasonable, but many actors are completely unsuitable for their roles and in terms of bloodshed it is quite slow. The Princess never really gives off a cool impression, and what happens to King as the princess probably won't really bomb any viewer. I think Kiet would be better off using actors who really have experience with stunts, otherwise half films like this will be released.

In a kind of game style and even with puzzles to solve. From one fight to another, with even less story than most pornographic films. Does it work? Well no, the concept is too thin to hold attention.

What deserves some appreciation is that the film is in any case quite original. You just have to dare, and that's exactly why I like this kind of film better than (cough) something like the MCU.
