La Estrategia del Silencio plot
The Spanish city of Valencia, July 2006. One of the worst metro disasters in history occurs when a train derails and 43 people are killed. While the relatives mourn for the victims, attention is focused on the arrival of the Pope five days later. In addition, a PR agency is hired to sweep the incident under the rug and the case is closed within a month. With the government and media remaining silent, a small group of victims' relatives, led by Beatriz Garrote, embark on a quest to uncover the truth. This documentary follows their nine-year struggle, revealing corrupt government, massive security breaches and a cynical culture of cover-ups.
