Silverton Siege plot
"Freedom is a fight."
Three young anti-apartheid fighters discover they've been framed during a mission to sabotage a gas depot. The police are ready to arrest them and a deadly chase ensues. The three eventually seek shelter in a bank in Silverton, Pretoria. They take the employees and the customers hostage and demand that Nelson Mandela be released. The stakes and tensions run high when the freedom fighters realize that one of them may be a traitor and are collaborating with the police.

A decent hostage drama. The fact-based story is skillfully developed by Dube. The build-up is good and the film is never boring. However, the film treads familiar paths, making it somewhat predictable and solid. As a viewer, you miss the emotion, even though the story lends itself perfectly to moving you. But no matter how it ends, it doesn't really matter. The acting is otherwise fine, and visually the film looks good and polished. 3.0

Rametsi, Dianini, and Vosloo deliver convincing performances in this drama based on true events. It is once again a sad sight to see how people oppress others to the point of death. This time, there is a group that wants to disrupt society for a more equal South Africa. The human dignity of existence is skillfully portrayed within the bank building.
