Ghosts of the Ozarks plot
After the Civil War, James McCune receives an offer to work in Arkansas as a doctor in the small town of Norfork. His uncle Matthew is in charge there. On the way there, James gets lost and sees a man being devoured by a strange red mist. In Norfork, James discovers it's a welcoming, close-knit community, where black men like him are treated equally. But the inhabitants also live behind a huge wall that protects them from the ghosts in the woods. Although James befriends several people, he begins to realize that Norfork is not what it seems...
