While under investigation for corruption, Lieutenant Thomas Blin has to attend his mother's funeral in the middle of the night. While trying to dodge a dog on the road, he accidentally hits a man and kills him instantly. In a panic, he decides to hide the body. He thinks he's done with it, but finds himself in a tailspin when the investigation of the missing man is entrusted to one of his colleagues and a mysterious witness tries to blackmail him...

A slightly uneven film, balancing between forced humor and thriller. Some scenes seem to drag on for far too long. It seems like a typical film with crazy developments where the main character gets into more and more trouble, but then with a turn towards an action thriller, which doesn't work very well. Credibility is 0.0, but that's not the point, of course. If you like logical stories, you'd better not watch it. It's a pretty enjoyable adventure, reasonably acted, and with a French twist, worth watching, only to be forgotten immediately afterwards.

OK, so apparently it's a French remake of an earlier South Korean production. Unfortunately, I can't compare it to this one, but what I saw was quite entertaining. Sans répit plays with various genres. This crime film is playful and has a good pace, maintains a high tension, and (naturally) doesn't lack the necessary action and even humor.
Reality is sometimes hard to come by, but the situations presented were well-conceived and executed. The more Thomas Blin tries to cover himself, the more trouble he gets himself into. Quite amusing, then. Not exceptional, but perfectly enjoyable for a Sunday evening. I also thought the supporting role of that black colleague was very successful, funny, and witty.
